Why yoga helps with creativity

Hey, warriors. I just wanted to take a quick couple of seconds, minutes, three minutes to talk about why yoga helps with creativity, why yoga can make you feel more creative, and why it’s one of the main things that I talk about in this, on this account. Yoga is great in general because it just gets the body moving, the blood moving. Movement in general is just really good for creativity. There’s all sorts of research on it.

I don’t need to go into the details of that. Y’all have probably heard it. If you’re sitting all day, if you’re feeling stuck and groggy, get up and move. It’s kind of common knowledge at this point. But why does yoga specifically help with creativity, and how can it help you?

So yoga helps stimulate the sacral chakra, or chakra. And what are chakras? Chakras are like energy, wheels of energy located along our spine. I’m not going to get into the details of all of them. It’s pretty complicated idea, but there are, oh, God, seven of them.

I think I might be wrong about that. And yoga helps stimulate all of these, but you can do specific poses that will help stimulate each one. So the sacral chakra, the chakra that impacts creativity, is located right about here, kind of behind in the abdomen. It’s actually our reproductive organs. So creativity creating life.

So if our chakras get stuck, imagine them kind of like wheels. And when they’re spinning, our energies are moving, flowing freely throughout our bodies. And as they get stuck and stop spinning, that particular energy that is affected by that particular chakra stops spinning and flowing. So if our creative chakra stops spinning, creativity stops flowing. So if we’re sitting all day, if we’re hunched over, if we’re like this, and our creative center is located right here, it’s gonna clog it up, it’s gonna stop it from spinning, and it’s gonna keep that energy from moving throughout the body.

So when you do poses, yoga poses that open up this area, hip opening poses specifically, can help that. It really helps nourish and nurture and massage, if you will, that sacral chakra and get those creative energies flowing again.
